The Queen is a bold and sculptural arrangement featuring extraordinary blooms from the Proteaceae family, including the iconic Queen Protea and other striking varieties from the genus. Known for their exceptional vase life, proteas also dry beautifully — allowing them to be kept and admired long after their fresh life has passed.

Protea was named after Proteus, the Greek sea god and son of Poseidon, famed for his ability to change form at will. Like its namesake, the protea flower appears in many shapes and expressions, symbolizing transformation, resilience, and strength of self.

Availability

The Queen is available for Valentine’s Day and may also be purchased as a preorder throughout the year, depending on seasonal and farm availability.

Our Sustainable Floral Practices

Sustainability is central to how we work with flowers.

• Wrapped in paper, twine, or raffia using recyclable and compostable materials
• No floral foam is used in any of our arrangements
• Only recyclable or reusable materials are used for vase arrangements
• Hand-tied bouquets are sent in fully compostable aqua bags (including the tape)
• Paper bags and paper flower boxes are used whenever possible and can be reused or recycled

In freezing temperatures only, a clear plastic protective bag may be used to protect flowers during transit. This bag can be reused as a household recycling liner.

*Compostable aqua bags are certified suitable for industrial composting and tested by TÜV Austria to meet EN 13432, ASTM D 6400-04, AS 4736 (2006), and ISO 17088 (2012) standards for compostability, biodegradability, eco-toxicity, and material characteristics.
