Light:
Low to medium indirect light. These orchids naturally grow along the forest floor and prefer shaded conditions. Gentle morning sun is tolerated, but avoid harsh direct light which can scorch leaves.

Water:
Keep evenly moist, but never soggy. Unlike many orchids, Paphiopedilum do not have pseudobulbs and cannot store water, so they should not fully dry out. Water approximately once or twice a week during active growth, allowing the top layer of the medium to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce frequency in cooler months.

Fertilizer:
With active growth (even in winter) we recommend using a fertilizer based for foliage plants like Bios Nutrients, Gaia green 444 or fish fertilizer.

Pet Safe:
Generally considered non-toxic to pets, however ingestion is not recommended. Keep out of reach of curious pets and children.

Additional Notes:

• Prefer moderate humidity (around 40–50%)

• Use a well-draining orchid mix (bark, perlite, charcoal, or sphagnum)

• Repot every 1–2 years, or when the mix begins to break down

• Avoid letting plants sit in standing water to prevent root rot

• After flowering, spikes can be trimmed back to the base

• Can be divided when mature (3–5 growths per division)
