Monstera Mint
Monstera deliciosa ‘Mint Variegata’
Description
Monstera Mint is a highly sought-after variegated Monstera, admired for its cool, creamy mint-green marbling layered over deep emerald leaves. Subtle and sophisticated, the variegation often appears almost painted on, with each leaf unfurling in a completely unique pattern. Slow growing and truly special, this plant is a favourite among collectors who appreciate refined beauty and patience.
Light
Bright, indirect light is essential to maintain healthy variegation. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch lighter areas of the leaves, but don’t place in low light as this may reduce variegation and slow growth.
Water
Water when the top 2–3 inches of soil are dry. Water thoroughly and allow excess moisture to drain away. Consistent watering is key—avoid letting the plant sit in soggy soil.
Humidity
Prefers moderate to high humidity (50–70%). Increased humidity supports larger leaves and more stable variegation, though the plant will adapt to average household humidity.
Temperature
Thrives in 18–27°C (65–80°F). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C (60°F).
Soil
Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix. A blend of coco coir or peat, orchid bark, perlite, and charcoal provides airflow while retaining just enough moisture.
Fertilizer
Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer, diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding in fall and winter.
Growth Habit
A climbing plant that benefits from a moss pole or support. Vertical growth encourages larger leaves and stronger fenestration as the plant matures.
Maintenance
Wipe leaves regularly to remove dust and support healthy photosynthesis. Rotate occasionally for even growth. Prune only as needed.
Pet Safe
NO Monstera Mint is toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.
