Learn to Read Tarot 🔮

Curious about tarot but not sure where to begin? Or maybe you already own a deck but find yourself constantly reaching for the guidebook?

Learn to Read Tarot is an intimate, hands-on beginner workshop designed to help you understand your cards, trust your intuition and actually start reading tarot — for yourself and for others.

With a maximum of 6 people, this small class gives you plenty of opportunity to ask questions, work directly with the cards and practise what you're learning.

From the beginning of class, you'll have the cards in your hands — exploring your deck, connecting with it, learning how to cleanse it and becoming comfortable working with the cards rather than simply memorizing definitions.

🔮 What You'll Learn

Throughout the workshop, we'll explore:

• The Major and Minor Arcana and the meanings behind the cards

• How to start seeing the messages, symbolism and stories within the cards

• How to ask clear and useful questions when reading for yourself or someone else

• 2–3 go-to tarot spreads you can confidently use

• How to create your own tarot spreads based on the question you're asking

• How to cleanse and connect with your tarot deck

• How to move beyond memorizing individual meanings and begin reading the cards together

• How to develop and trust your intuition while reading

And most importantly — we're going to actually read tarot!

You'll have time to practise readings during class, ask questions and become more comfortable interpreting the cards in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Absolutely no previous tarot experience is required. Beginners are welcome.

What to Bring

Please bring:

• Your own tarot deck to work with during class. You can also purchase a Rider Waite tarot deck for a special class price of $25 just add to cart when checking out class. (Regular price $31)

• A notebook and pen or something you'd like to use for taking notes

You'll be working directly with your deck throughout the workshop, so choose one you're excited to get to know! If you don't have one we have a great tarot deck for starters and many to choose from at the store, we will have some demo cards available to use for those that are unable to purchase or bring a deck.

Workshop Booking Policy

Thank you for registering for a workshop at The Botanist! We put a great deal of care into preparing each class and reserving your space.

Cancellations

• 7 days or more before your workshop: Eligible for a full refund.

• Less than 7 days before your workshop: Eligible for a transfer to another workshop date or store credit.

• 48 hours or less before your workshop: Non-refundable and not eligible for store credit or transfer.

No-Shows

Participants who do not attend their workshop without prior notice are not eligible for a refund, store credit or transfer.

Transfer Your Spot

Workshop registrations are 100% transferable. If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to send a friend or family member in your place. Please let us know before class so we can update our attendance list.

Workshop Cancellations by The Botanist

In the unlikely event that The Botanist needs to cancel or reschedule a workshop due to low enrolment, instructor illness, severe weather or unforeseen circumstances, you may choose a full refund, store credit or transfer to another workshop date.
