Red Russian Garlic
Bold, spicy, and full of flavour — Red Russian is a classic hardneck variety belonging to the marbled purple stripe group. Known for its striking purple-streaked wrappers and large, easy-to-peel cloves, it’s both beautiful and practical in the kitchen.

Raw cloves carry a hot, robust bite, but when roasted or cooked, Red Russian develops a deep, earthy sweetness with lingering warmth. Its complex flavour makes it excellent for roasts, soups, and preserving.

Like other heritage garlics, Red Russian is rich in allicin, an antioxidant compound linked to both health benefits and strong garlic character. Each bulb typically contains 6–8 plump cloves, perfect for both everyday cooking and long storage.
