Columbine assorted | Garden Seedling
Botanical name: Aquilegia vulgaris (and hybrids)
Common name: Columbine
Kingdom: Plantae
Family: Ranunculaceae
Genus: Aquilegia
Origin: Native to Europe and widely cultivated; many species also native to North America
Light: Prefers partial shade to full sun. In hot climates, afternoon shade is best.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist, especially during establishment. Once mature, plants are somewhat drought tolerant but perform best with regular watering.
Fertilizer: With active growth (even in winter) we recommend using a fertilizer based for foliage plants like Bios Nutrients, Gaia Green 4-4-4, or fish fertilizer.
Pet Friendly: Generally non-toxic, but can cause mild stomach upset if ingested by pets in large amounts.
Columbine’s intricate, spurred flowers resemble little dancing lanterns, and they’re a favorite of hummingbirds. Each plant can produce a rainbow of colors, and they often reseed themselves, popping up as cheerful surprises in the garden year after year.
Plants in picture will not be exact plant. Plants and pots sold separately. Shipping of plants is weather permitted. Please note occasional breakage of 2-3 leaves is normal when shipping.
