Brachyscome | Garden Seedling

Botanical name: Lobularia maritima
Common name: Alyssum
Kingdom: Plantae
Family: Brassicaceae
Genus: Lobularia
Origin: Mediterranean region

Light:
Alyssum thrives in full sun to part shade. In hotter climates, some afternoon shade can help prolong blooming through summer.

Water:
Keep soil lightly moist while establishing. Once established, alyssum is relatively drought tolerant but will flower best with regular watering, especially during hot or dry periods. Avoid overly soggy soil.

Fertilizer:
With active growth (even in winter) we recommend using a fertilizer based for foliage plants like Bios Nutrients, Gaia green 444 or fish fertilizer.

Pet Friendly:
Yes — considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.

Alyssum is loved for its delicate clusters of tiny blooms and sweet honey-like fragrance. Often used in borders, containers, hanging baskets, and garden edges, it creates a soft cloud-like effect and attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies. Available in shades of white, lavender, pink, and purple, alyssum flowers continuously through the season with proper care and occasional trimming.
